Position Summary
The Manufacturing QA Technician I will perform sampling, testing, plating, reading, and recording product test results to ensure product safety and quality. The role requires strong knowledge of Microbiological, Physical, Chemical, and Organoleptic Testing and proficiency in Windows-based PC programs, particularly Excel.
Key Responsibilities
Sampling, testing, plating, reading, and recording product test results.
Maintaining daily records and performing data entry.
Conducting internal audits and following hold procedures for non-compliant products.
Calibrating and troubleshooting laboratory equipment.
Preparing for inspections and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
Performing lab testing procedures such as microbial plating, component analysis, and environmental swabbing.
Inspecting equipment and plant areas to ensure sanitation and regulatory compliance.
Conducting sensory analysis on milk and other products.
Reporting daily production-related issues to supervisors.
Monitoring all Critical Control Point (CCP) records and frequencies.
Following up on customer complaints and coordinating with production teams.
Managing product specifications, maintaining policies, and supporting GMP, Food Safety, and regulatory compliance training.
Maintaining inventory of laboratory supplies and lab test equipment.
Demonstrating exceptional attention to detail, organization, and adaptability in a dynamic environment.
Effectively managing multiple tasks related to food safety and regulatory compliance.
Qualifications & Experience
Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Biology, Microbiology, Chemistry, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
Knowledge of Microbiological, Physical, Chemical, and Organoleptic Testing.
Familiarity with HACCP, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and Good Sanitation Practices (GSP).
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Proficiency in Windows-based PC programs, especially Intermediate Excel.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent documentation and communication abilities.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team.
Strong multitasking and time management skills.
Customer service-oriented with a commitment to quality and compliance.
