Print Operator

Job Title: Print Operator Location: Edgewood, NY Job Type: Contract (Onsite) Pay Rate: $16.43 - $19.52 per hourPosition Summary:The Print Operator supports the Production Operations team by operating cut-sheet and high-speed printing equipment, as well as perfect binding and stitching machines, to produce high-quality printed materials for internal and external clients. This role requires strong attention to detail, the ability to prioritize multiple print jobs, and a commitment to meeting quality and turnaround standards.Key Responsibilities:Receive and process print requests from the DDS Print Coordinator and SupervisorOperate cut-sheet and high-speed printers to produce assigned print jobsAssign and route jobs to appropriate printers using the Canon Workflow SystemCollaborate with supervisors, print coordinators, and production control staff to prioritize workloadsMonitor print output continuously to ensure compliance with DDS and client quality standardsReview printed materials for accuracy, completeness, and print qualityCompare print request data with actual output to ensure correct job routingNotify the DDS Print Coordinator upon job completion for processing to the next production stageStamp and track print requests for accountability and accurate production reportingIdentify and report printer or file issues to managementCoordinate with vendors (Canon, Ricoh, Bell & Howell, Horizon, etc.) for equipment issues requiring serviceLog vendor service calls according to DDS proceduresPerform additional duties as assignedQualifications:High school diploma required; some college preferredMinimum 1 year of experience in a print production environmentExperience with Canon or Ricoh printers strongly preferredStrong verbal and written communication skillsExcellent organizational and time-management abilitiesAbility to multitask and manage multiple prioritiesHigh attention to detail and quality controlSelf-starter with strong initiativeStrong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environmentFlexibility to work overtime, including weekendsWillingness to learn and operate various print room equipmentKey Skills:Print Production OperationsCut-Sheet & High-Speed PrintingCanon & Ricoh PrintersWorkflow Management SystemsQuality Control & Document ReviewTeam Collaboration
