A well-established law firm in Hunt Valley, Maryland is seeking an experienced Senior Estates &
Trusts Paralegal to join its close-knit and highly respected practice. This position offers the opportunity to work exclusively in the Estates & Trusts area while supporting attorneys in a collegial, team-oriented environment.
This role may be especially appealing to candidates currently working in larger law firms who are seeking a more personal, collaborative setting where they can take ownership of matters and have a direct impact on client service.
Key Responsibilities
- Support attorneys in a busy Estates & Trusts practice
- Manage probate and estate administration matters from opening through closing
- Prepare and file estate, gift, fiduciary income, and related state tax returns
- Draft estate planning and estate administration documents
- Coordinate with clients, accountants, financial advisors, and financial institutions
- Organize and maintain estate, probate, and trust administration files
- Utilize estate administration and tax software for filings, reporting, and recordkeeping
- Track deadlines and ensure compliance with court and tax filing requirements
- Work closely with attorneys and support staff to deliver exceptional client service
- Maintain the highest level of confidentiality, accuracy, and professionalism
Qualifications
- 7 years of senior-level Estates & Trusts paralegal experience
- Strong knowledge of probate, estate administration, and trust administration processes
- Extensive experience preparing estate, gift, and fiduciary tax returns
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and estate/tax administration software
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to manage matters independently from inception through completion
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Professional, collaborative approach and ability to thrive in a team-oriented environment
