Bookkeeper / Accountant | Temp-to-Hire
NRI Staffing is seeking a Bookkeeper / Accountant for our client in Alexandria, VA. This opportunity offers $30/hour, a primarily remote schedule, and an ASAP start.
Position Details
- Pay: $30/hour
- Schedule: One day per week onsite in Alexandria; remaining days remote
- Employment type: Temp-to-hire
- Start: ASAP
- Required: Experience using Sage accounting software
Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate financial records and prepare accounting entries.
- Coordinate payroll, compile timesheets, and enter monthly payroll summaries into the general ledger.
- Manage accounts payable, including invoice coding, check requests, recordkeeping, and monthly close.
- Enter accounts receivable information from the membership database.
- Assist with preparing and distributing 1099s and related tax forms.
- Resolve accounting discrepancies and respond to billing questions from staff, vendors, and customers.
- Support external audits, employee onboarding, and special projects.
Qualifications
- Prior bookkeeping or accounting experience.
- Hands-on experience with Sage accounting software.
- Experience supporting accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger activities.
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and report onsite in Alexandria one day per week.
