Job Summary:
NRF Distributors has an immediate opening for a detail-orientated Senior Staff Accountant to assist with the day-to-day operations of the Accounting Department! The successful candidate will be responsible for the accurate and timely completion of a variety of spreadsheets and analyses, as well as assisting the Controller with higher level banking and key financial data.
Minimum qualifications for this position include a bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related business field, professional experience in a similar role, intermediate level computer skills (Microsoft Suite, Access, Macola accounting software, Kerridge Navigator software, F9 financial reporting software, or similar products), sales tax knowledge, a strong attention to detail, and the ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
The typical schedule for this in-office position is Monday through Friday, from 8am-5pm with weekends off!
Typical duties in this position would include:
- Preparing a variety of weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports highlighting key financial data for management.
- Preparing journal entries and assisting with month-end closing.
- Maintaining the accuracy and integrity of the accounting software systems and the accounting staff's performance.
- Monitoring daily cash activity and working with our banking partner on any daily issues related to wire transfers, ACH, reconciliation, etc.
- Ensuring that all applicable tax information is collected, recorded, and submitted to various government entities.
- Interacting with vendors to resolve billing and payment issues.
- Creating, approving, and recording monthly journal entries and accruals.
- Preparing monthly financials for NRF Distributors and all related companies.
- Working closely with the Controller on the day-to-day accounting operations of the company and assisting the CFO with special projects as needed.
- Helping company employees with accounting matters relating to their job functions.
- Working with external auditors. Responsible for the coordination of information provided to them.
