Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled General Laborer - Installer to join our construction team. This role involves supporting various installation projects across commercial and residential sites, ensuring quality workmanship and adherence to safety standards. The ideal candidate will have experience with a variety of construction tasks, including working with hand tools, power tools, and reading blueprints. This position offers an opportunity to develop your skills in a dynamic environment with diverse projects, from framing and drywall to roofing and finishing work.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the installation of building components such as cabinetry, doors, windows, flooring, tile, and drywall.
- Operate hand tools, power tools, and heavy equipment safely and efficiently.
- Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and construction plans to support project execution.
- Prepare construction sites by clearing debris, setting up scaffolding or ladders, and ensuring safety protocols are followed.
- Support concrete forming, finishing, masonry, plastering, stucco application, and restoration tasks as needed.
- Perform demolition or removal of existing structures or materials in preparation for new installations.
- Assist with fabrication and assembly of materials on-site or in the shop.
- Follow all safety guidelines related to construction site operations including caulking, trim carpentry, roofing, glass installation, framing, door hanging, painting, tile laying, and masonry work.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of projects while maintaining quality standards.
Experience
- Prior experience in construction site work or general labor roles is preferred.
- Knowledge of construction management principles and estimating is a plus but not required.
- Familiarity with blueprint reading and schematics is highly desirable.
- Hands-on experience with various trades such as carpentry (including trim carpentry), roofing, masonry, welding, flooring installation, or concrete finishing is advantageous.
- Ability to operate heavy equipment safely is a plus.
- Experience working on diverse projects including remodeling, restoration, hardscape installation, or glass/cabinet installation will be considered an asset.
- Candidates should demonstrate strong physical stamina for lifting heavy materials and working at heights or on scaffolding. Pay: $23.85 - $28.72 per hour
