Job Title: Senior Backplane Designer
Location: Fremont, California
Duration: Full Time Permanent Role
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop PCB designs based on customer input and industry standards (VITA, PICMG).
- Design custom high-speed backplanes (VME/64X, VXS, VPX, cPCI, ATCA) with DFM principles.
- Prepare backplane schematics, check plots, and Gerber files while ensuring compliance with ISO processes.
- Interface with customers, PCB fabrication shops, and manufacturing/testing personnel.
- Participate in design reviews and troubleshoot engineering challenges.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Strong understanding of electronics and signal integrity principles.
- Proficiency in P-CAD and Altium Designer for PCB design.
- Extensive experience in backplane/PCB and circuit design.
- Familiarity with VITA and PICMG standards.
- Ability to review emerging technologies and educate internal teams.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently & collaboratively.
- BSEE degree with 7 years of experience in backplane design.
