Mechanical Engineer II (Engineer II) – FPC (Fans, Pumps and Compressors)

Location : Irvine CA (onsite)

6 Month Contract

Job Summary:

The Mechanical Engineer II will support the design, analysis, development, testing, and troubleshooting of high-performance rotating machinery, including fans, pumps, and compressors operating at speeds up to 24,000 RPM. This role works collaboratively with cross-functional engineering teams to deliver reliable aerospace and defense solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, analyze, develop, test, and troubleshoot rotating machinery and electro-mechanical systems.
• Support machine design activities, including component development and performance evaluation.
• Perform engineering drawing reviews and checks for team members.
• Collaborate with engineering teams, suppliers, customers, and management to meet technical, cost, and schedule requirements.
• Apply industry standards and engineering best practices throughout product development.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 3–5 years of experience in mechanical design, analysis, and development of machine systems or electro-mechanical components.
• Experience supporting aerospace or defense applications preferred.
• Strong understanding of fluid dynamics and heat transfer.
• Proficiency with mechanical drawings, drafting standards, and GD&T (ANSI Y14.5).
• Ability to manage priorities and deliver results in a fast-paced engineering environment.
• Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Hands-on hardware testing and validation experience.
• Experience with military specifications and environmental requirements.
• General machine shop experience.
• Practical knowledge of hydraulics, mechanical feed systems, linear controls, basic electronics, and servomechanisms.
