Job Type: Direct Hire (Fulltime Permanent Role)

Salary Range: $70K - $80K/Annum plus Benefits

Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Molding Technician to support injection molding operations in a hands-on technical leadership capacity. This role is ideal for an experienced injection molding professional who can independently handle machine setups, mold changes, troubleshooting, process adjustments, and production support while helping ensure consistent quality, productivity, and efficient machine operation.

The position is primarily technical and hands-on, with an emphasis on leading by expertise rather than formal personnel management.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform injection molding machine setups, startups, shutdowns and changeovers.
• Complete mold changes and ensure proper installation, alignment and setup.
• Troubleshoot molding machines, molds and processing issues to minimize downtime and scrap.
• Adjust molding processes and machine parameters to achieve consistent production and quality.
• Monitor production processes and identify opportunities to improve cycle times, efficiency and product quality.
• Support mold trials, new mold introductions and process development activities.
• Diagnose and resolve molding defects and recommend appropriate corrective actions.
• Work closely with production, quality, engineering and maintenance teams to resolve technical issues.
• Assist with process optimization, continuous improvement and waste reduction initiatives.
• Provide technical guidance and support to other molding technicians and production personnel.
• Help maintain accurate process parameters, setup standards and production documentation.
• Support preventive troubleshooting and identify potential equipment or process problems before they impact production.
• Promote safe work practices and maintain a clean, organized production environment.

Qualifications:

• 4–5 years of hands-on injection molding experience preferred; flexibility for candidates with strong technical capability.
• Strong experience with injection molding machine setup and operation.
• Demonstrated experience performing mold changes and machine/process setups.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills related to injection molding processes.
• Experience making process adjustments and optimizing molding parameters.
• Experience supporting mold trials, new molds or process development is highly desirable.
• Ability to identify and correct molding defects and production issues.
• Strong understanding of injection molding processes, equipment, molds and tooling.
• Ability to work independently and take technical ownership of molding operations.
