Responsibilities
- Manage all phases of toxic tort and asbestos litigation matters from inception through resolution
- Conduct and defend depositions of fact witnesses, corporate representatives, plaintiffs, and expert witnesses
- Draft and argue substantive motions, including motions to dismiss, discovery motions, motions in limine, and summary judgment motions
- Develop case strategy related to product identification, exposure history, causation, and damages
- Collaborate with scientific, medical, industrial hygiene, and other expert witnesses
- Prepare expert reports, witness outlines, and trial materials
- Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, memoranda, and appellate briefs
- Manage written discovery, document review, and e-discovery processes
- Participate in court appearances, mediations, arbitrations, and trials
- Communicate effectively with clients, insurers, co-counsel, and opposing counsel
- Work closely with partners and senior attorneys on high-exposure, complex litigation matters
- J.D. from an accredited law school and admission to practice in New York
- Prior litigation experience required; toxic tort, asbestos, products liability, insurance defense, environmental, or complex commercial litigation experience preferred
- Strong deposition, motion practice, and case management skills
- Experience working with expert witnesses and complex medical or scientific evidence is a plus
- Excellent research, writing, analytical, and advocacy skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative approach to client service
- Trial experience is a plus but not required
