Job Description
We are seeking a Payroll Manager to help lead our team of talented professionals. Reporting to the Director of Payroll Accounting, this person must be capable of running entire payroll cycles cradle to grave and have critical thinking skills to identify what went wrong in a particular payroll transaction. The Payroll Manager must be able to understand corrective actions and downstream impacts of those corrections on current and future payroll cycles.
Due to the requirements of this role, we will only consider candidates who have a strong understanding of timekeeping using Kronos (or similar product), importing time into Peoplesoft, and running biweekly and off-cycle payrolls for multiple tax IDs. The candidate's background must also include a documented understanding of payroll taxes for non-profit and for-profit companies.
The candidate must be strong technically with Excel and have a working knowledge of SQL or PeopleSoft queries. In addition, the candidate must be very comfortable working with large amounts of data and detail oriented to tie everything out.

Responsibilities Include
- Advises on best practices in payroll accounting and staff development
- Assists the director on all payroll & timekeeping functions for the organization.
- Works with leaders in IT, HRIS, and Operations in developing new strategies for payroll and timekeeping, implementation of new technologies, new procedures, and help ensure all stakeholders are maintaining compliance with IRS and other labor law when implementing changes to pay practices.
- Five years of experience in payroll processing and payroll tax required.
- Multi-State experience required.
- Requires Bachelors degree, preferably in Accounting, Finance, or business-related field
- Over 5 years Management/Leadership Experience Required
- Over 5 years Payroll Experience Required
- Over 5 years Timekeeping Experience Required
- 3-5 Years Management Experience Required
- Fundamental payroll professional certification (FPC) Preferred Or
- Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) Preferred
