Metallurgist- Process and Product Focus. This position provides Technical Support for Production, Customers, and Sales. On-site.
Experience
Minimum of 3 years of previous experience in a steelmaking environment preferred.
Strong organizational skills
The ability to effectively collect and analyze data to derive applicable information
The ability to concisely communicate to internal and external customers well and clearly in written or verbal format
The ability to present comprehensive factual data to diverse audiences
Professional and personable with a solid work ethic and ability to talk with internal and external customers
Ability to use hand tools if needed on occasion

Metallurgist- Process and Product Focus. This position provides Technical Support for Production, Customers, and Sales. On-site.
- Reports to: Metallurgical Manager No reports; individual contributor
- Provides technical support for refractories, melting, teeming, thermal handling and cutting.
- Leads product development efforts and new product launch in close cooperation with sales,
- Ensures that departments comply with established procedures and utilize sound metallurgical practices,
- Supports and/or leads projects for productivity improvement, cost reduction and/or quality improvement,
- Oversees investigations of operational and quality deficiencies, including NCMs Identifies root cause(s) and oversees/monitors corrective action,
- Responsible for the standardization, accuracy, reliability and maintenance of analytical equipment,
- Performs chemical analysis of final steel samples and heat certifications,
- Assists customers with technical issues regarding products,
- Has authority to disposition material/products, and researches and considers new technology, processes and practices for implementation.
- US Citizenship is required due to long-standing Governmental contract mandates.
