- Reporting to the VP Operations, responsible for managing and reducing risk while embodying proactive and innovative culture.
- Oversee all EHS critical metrics and objectives across the company including multi-site operations, sales, and office environments.
- Foster a collaborative culture within operations and sales teams to promote a zero-incident and injury-free workplace.
- Influence long-term decision-making to ensure safety of associates.
- Lead a dedicated team of 5-8 professionals coordinating EHS program and personnel.
- Travel 35-40% including international travel to Latin America.
- Develop and deploy strategies to enhance organizational performance focusing on culture, influence, and risk mitigation.
- Lead the development of company-wide, multi-year EHS strategies guiding associates and steering committees.
- Set annual goals based on gaps and prioritized risks for manufacturing facilities and field sales globally.
- Partner with business leaders to integrate EHS routines into performance expectations.
- Develop, implement and manage comprehensive EHS programs and policies ensuring compliance with company and regulations.
- Ensure safety, environmental and regulatory training for associates and EHS professionals.
- Develop training programs and recommend training aids and materials.
- Ensure proper incident reporting, investigation and corrective actions closure.
- Provide leadership in risk assessment, change management, and business continuity planning.
- Develop and communicate metrics, trends, and key performance indicators for EHS and sustainability.
- Ensure global team competency to meet regulatory requirements.
- Develop and implement strategies to reduce waste and environmental impact.
- Monitor and evaluate sustainability program effectiveness.
- Align sustainability project proposals with cost-effectiveness and feasibility.
- Lead waste, water, and energy reduction efforts through company tools.
- Manage Workers' Compensation, incident and injury case management.
- Oversee Property Risk Insurance program in partnership with plants.
- Manage department budget and expenditures to meet financial goals.
- Manage ISO 14001 and be familiar with ISO 45001 programs.
- Bachelor's degree (B.S.) from college or university; Master's degree in EHS or MBA or experience in leading manufacturing operations with EHS knowledge.
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), or other EHS-related certification preferred.
- 10 years EHS experience with 5 years direct supervisory or leadership experience in influencing EHS culture and compliance.
- Experience in LEAN or continuous improvement environment and ability to apply concepts to EHS.
- International experience preferred.
- Experience managing Field Sales and fleet safety programs ideal.
- Fluent in English; Spanish is a plus but not required.
