- Collaborates on preparing, administering, and grading exams and final evaluations
- Tracks and submits class attendance and grades
- Assists with strategic planning and program assessment
- Orients new faculty in theory and clinical settings
- Uses adult learner teaching principles
- Improves instruction quality continuously
- Integrates online activities into teaching
- Maintains student records (attendance, skills check-offs) and assists with data collection
- Submits timely program reports to Director
- Stays current with technologies and safety regulations
- Participates in nursing program committees
- Attends faculty meetings
- Plans and supervises student clinical experiences
- Evaluates student clinical performance per department policies
- Provides immediate feedback on clinical performance
- Ensures clinical assignments meet student and facility needs
- Determines optimal methods to observe, instruct, and evaluate students
- Verifies clinical facilities meet health and safety requirements
- Provides student access via office hours and electronic communication
- Participates in student advising
- MSN required; 3 years bedside RN experience
- No teaching experience needed; faculty development provided
- Active CA RN license
- MSN or higher from accredited institution with coursework in nursing/education/admin/OB/Pediatrics/Psychiatry
- 4 years direct patient care as RN
- 1 year clinical experience in last 5 years; clinically competent per CCR 1420(c)
- Expertise in Pediatrics or OB-Gyn
