Our client, a stable and people-focused organization partnering with NOW CFO, is seeking a hands-on HR/Payroll Manager to oversee payroll, HR operations, and benefits administration. What Youll Own
Payroll & Commission Processing

Manage bi-weekly payroll for ~80 employees with accuracy and consistency

Handle commissionscollect data, validate with managers, calculate payouts, and ensure compliance with comp plans

Maintain and audit timecards, pay changes, bonuses, garnishments, and payroll records

Serve as the primary resource for employee payroll questions
System Implementation & Process Improvement

Lead the rollout or migration of a new payroll/HRIS platform

Partner with leadership, IT, and vendors to configure the system and improve workflows

Build SOPs, train staff, and refine processes to increase efficiency
Benefits & Open Enrollment

Administer health, dental, vision, life, and disability programs

Lead annual open enrollment and coordinate with brokers/carriers

Ensure benefit deductions flow correctly into payroll

Support employees with benefit changes, questions, and documentation
HR Support

Oversee onboarding and offboarding from an HR and payroll perspective
-
Maintain personnel files, documentation, and compliance requirements
-
Assist with policy updates and employee relations support as needed
Compliance & Reporting

Ensure payroll, benefits, and HR processes follow federal, state, and local regulations

Prepare routine reports for leadership, auditors, or regulatory needs

Maintain records for workers comp, leave programs, and audits
Must-Have Qualifications
-
35 years of experience running full-cycle payroll
-
HR administrative experience (onboarding/offboarding, files, employee support)

Experience administering benefits and leading open enrollment
-
Strong understanding of payroll compliance and wage & hour requirements

Ability to write SOPs/process documentation and train others

Hands-on experience with payroll or HRIS systems
-
Bachelors degree or equivalent years of HR/payroll experience; HR certifications are acceptable substitutes

High attention to detail, accuracy, and confidentiality

Strong Excel skills
Nice-to-Have Skills

Experience with Paycom, ADP, Paychex, or similar platforms

Prior involvement in a system implementation or migration

Payroll or HR certifications (PHR, SHRM-CP, FPC, CPP)

Experience processing commission plans

Safety or compliance-related HR experience

Psychology or behavioral-based background helpful for employee relations
