Overview:
Or client, a privately held manufacturing company in the food production sector is seeking a skilled Financial Analyst to join their finance team. This role is instrumental in analyzing financial trends, interpreting operational data, and preparing performance reports to inform key business decisions. The position will regularly interface with both corporate leadership and on-site operational staff across multiple plant locations.
Key Responsibilities:

Interpret financial and operational data to deliver meaningful insights.

Evaluate actual performance against budget expectations and assist teams in identifying variances.

Participate in budgeting and forecasting efforts.

Drive improvements in reporting processes and performance metrics for operations and sales.

Support pricing, costing, and margin analysis at the customer and product level.

Generate ad hoc analyses and contribute to cross-functional projects.

Oversee sales agreement analysis and reporting.

Assist in audit preparation and year-end financial closing processes.

Maintain timely and accurate internal financial reports and presentation decks for leadership and board meetings.

Complete additional tasks or special projects as assigned.
Preferred Background and Skills:

4 years of progressive experience in cost accounting, FP&A, or financial reportingpreferably within a manufacturing or food production setting.

Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting practices.

Experience working in the manufacturing industry

Proficiency in Excel, including pivot tables, advanced formulas, and modeling. Experience with Power BI or D365 is a plus.

Excellent communication skills and the ability to convey complex financial information clearly.

Strong analytical thinking with a detail-oriented mindset.

Experience in a high-volume, multi-site environment is a bonus.
Education:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline required.
Other Requirements:

Willingness to travel up to 10%, including occasional trips to a Canadian location (passport required).

Comfortable working flexible hours, including occasional weekends or holidays when needed.

Ability to work in a standard office setting for extended periods and interact with typical office equipment.
Work Environment:
The position operates primarily in a traditional office setting but requires periodic interaction with four production facilities that run 24/7.
