NOW CFO is partnering with a growing, entrepreneurial organization in the automotive space to identify a hands-on Controller to join their leadership team. This is a permanent, direct-hire opportunity on our clients team.
This is an onsite role supporting a multi-entity business with strong growth potential and high visibility across operations and leadership.
Location: Onsite and In-Office in Torrance, CA
Compensation: $135k-$150k
Position Overview
The Controller will oversee day-to-day accounting operations while helping build scalable processes and systems to support continued growth. This individual will work closely with executive leadership and play a key role in financial reporting, forecasting, and operational integration.
This role is ideal for a motivated, detail-oriented accounting leader who enjoys being “in the weeds” while also thinking strategically.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement accounting processes, procedures, and SOPs
- Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes
- Oversee journal entries, reconciliations, and general ledger activity
- Manage multi-entity accounting and intercompany transactions
- Support system and process integrations (CRM/ERP and related tools)
- Partner with leadership on forecasting, cash flow, and financial visibility
- Coordinate sales tax filings and audit support
- Handle ad hoc financial projects and special initiatives
- Maintain strong internal controls and documentation
- Support and mentor accounting staff
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 5 years of controllership or senior accounting leadership experience
- Experience with intercompany accounting and multi-entity structures
- Strong background in building processes and improving efficiencies
- Experience working with complex operations
- Comfortable in fast-paced, high-growth environments
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and execution-focused
- Proficiency with modern accounting systems (QuickBooks Online)
Preferred Experience
- Exposure to small business or family-owned environments
- Experience working with executive teams, boards, or investors
- Strong judgment around confidentiality and sensitive information
