Perform installation oversight, configuration, testing, monitoring, servicing of network equipment, and activation of DoD network services/projects in accordance with DISA standards.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Lead and train team on implementation activities and processes
- Execute customer coordination, Initial Test & Acceptance (IT&A), required reporting, and all data entry for new service activations
- Work with customers, solution architects, and vendor SMEs to implement changes and identify/analyze/resolve issues
- Manage Service Orders per Change Management procedures; ensure TSOs are accurate and in place
- Initiate device configurations using configlets
- Analyze DISN and supporting databases to validate/implement customer requirements
- Design/implement solutions to complex problems via testing, documentation, and configuration modifications
- Coordinate/program circuit activations with commercial vendors for end-to-end connectivity
- Monitor networks post-change to confirm traffic behavior and detect customer impact; incorporate lessons learned/customer reporting
- Engage DISA PMs/customers to resolve unclear/incomplete requirements and drive approvals to keep requests moving
Requirements
Required Qualifications:
- BS 4-8 yrs relevant experience OR MS 2-6 yrs relevant experience
- Strong knowledge of network hardware specs, configuration/testing processes, and performance/problem management
- Network architecture/technology evaluation & needs assessment experience
- Experience with data/voice network design over transmission systems, including:
- Routing protocols: BGP, ISIS (and OSPF preferred/commonly used)
- Switching: trunking, VLANs
- WAN/circuit configurations (incl. multiplexers), router-to-router connectivity
- Working knowledge of: DHCP, DNS, TCP/IP, WAN, VPN, VLAN, VRF
- Familiarity with network appliances: routers, load balancers, DNS servers, firewalls
- Strong communication skills; collaborative, team-oriented, self-driven
