Import/Export Logistics Specialist – North America (On‑site)
The Role & Your Impact
As an Import/Export Logistics Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring compliant, efficient movement of Novonesis products and samples across borders in North America. Your work will help prevent customs delays, manage regulatory risk, and support smooth intercompany logistics operations across industries.
Key Responsibilities Include
- Acting as designated permittee on import permits in close collaboration with Regulatory
- Monitoring intercompany shipments and coordinating with freight forwarders, carriers, and customs brokers
- Supporting import/export documentation (commercial invoices, packing lists, certificates of origin, BOL/AWB)
- Ensuring import/export compliance for Novonesis products and samples across North America
- Supporting HTS classification in partnership with International Tax
- Assisting with resolution of customs duties, bonds, invoice discrepancies, and PO adherence issues
- Supporting the CTPAT program to maintain certification and compliance
- Monitoring customs clearance lists (e.g., ACIR) and proactively securing permits
- Tracking regulatory and industry developments impacting trade and compliance
- Supporting regional and global logistics initiatives as needed
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Logistics, Supply Chain, or related field
- 5 years of experience in import/export logistics or trade compliance
- Strong knowledge of customs processes, HTS classification, and licensing requirements
- Experience with agencies such as USDA, APHIS, TSCA, FDA
- Proficiency with SAP and transportation/logistics systems
- Advanced English communication skills (written and verbal)
- Experience working with freight forwarders, customs brokers, and 3PLs
- Knowledge of CTPAT requirements and compliance processes
- Background in foreign trade or international business
- Strong attention to detail and continuous‑improvement mindset.
