Good CWI opportunities are out there.

But how many give you the chance to work inside an established structural steel operation with a strong backlog of structural, bridge and heavy fabrication projects?

This is a shop-based opportunity with a business that is continuing to invest in its people, production capabilities and quality systems.

You’ll play a key role in making sure complex steelwork is fabricated to the required standards — working closely with welders, supervisors, production and quality teams.

🏗️ What You'll Be Doing

• Inspect structural steel, bridge components and welded assemblies

• Carry out visual weld inspections (VT)

• Ensure compliance with AWS D1.1 / D1.5 and approved WPSs

• Review drawings, welding symbols and project specifications

• Inspect fit-up, weld preparation and completed welds

• Identify non-conformances and help drive corrective action

• Maintain accurate inspection and quality documentation

• Support NDT activities including UT, MT, PT and RT where required

• Work with production teams to maintain quality and reduce rework

🎯 What They're Looking For

• Current AWS CWI certification

• Structural steel fabrication / welding inspection experience

• Strong knowledge of AWS D1.1

• D1.5 / bridge fabrication experience is a plus

• AISC fabrication experience preferred

• Ability to read structural drawings, welding symbols and WPSs

• Strong understanding of fabrication and welding processes

• NDT experience is highly desirable
