As the HIM Supervisor, you’ll lead a team of Electronic Medical Records Specialists dedicated to ensuring the integrity, accessibility, and compliance of patient health records. You’ll play a critical role in supporting patient care by driving accuracy, efficiency, and adherence to regulations across the HIM function.
What You’ll Do
- Location: Onsite at Huntersville Medical Center, Huntersville, NC & Rowan Medical Center, Salisbury, NC
- Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm
- Lead and support the HIM team by overseeing daily workflows, monitoring KPIs, and ensuring compliance with CMS, TJC, and HIPAA standards.
- Manage team activities including record rounding, prepping, scanning, indexing, on-site release of information, incoming mail processing, and vendor record requests.
- Onboard, train, and coach new team members while fostering engagement and accountability.
- Collaborate with leadership, participate in departmental meetings, and implement process improvements.
- Enforce policies, address performance issues, and promote a positive, inclusive, and productive work culture.
What You’ll Need
Required:
- RHIA or RHIT licensure required.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- 3 years’ experience in Health Information Management or 2 years in a supervisory/leadership role.
- Knowledge of Joint Commission, CMS, and other related regulations that pertain to medical record/hospital records.
- Strong organizational skills, able to work independently, multitask and drive/travel to multiple locations/facilities.
- Proficiency in computer-based workflows.
Preferred:
- Bachelor’s degree in Health Information Management or related field.
- Experience with Epic EHR and/or Hyland OnBase scanning.
- Proven track record of supervisory success and positive team engagement.
