Job Summary: Responsible for purchasing materials, parts, and services to support the efficient operation of retail and service departments. This role ensures the timely and cost-effective procurement of stock and special-order items while maintaining strong commercial relationships with suppliers and service providers. The Parts Buyer also plays a key role in inventory control, vendor management, and assisting with parts sales as needed.
Essential Job Duties:
- Obtain vendor quotes and generate purchase orders for both stock and special-order parts.
- Create and manage stock orders using forecasting tools and historical sales data to maintain optimal inventory levels.
- Develop and maintain strategic supplier partnerships to improve pricing, quality, and delivery performance.
- Monitor supplier performance using key performance indicators (KPIs) such as on-time delivery, quality, and responsiveness.
- Receive, check in, and properly store incoming stock.
- Perform regular cycle counts and support annual inventory audits to ensure accuracy.
- Maintain up-to-date and accurate vendor and product information, including part numbers and descriptions.
- Monitor and adjust part pricing as needed to ensure proper gross profit margins.
- Assist in parts sales and customer service as needed, providing knowledgeable support on part availability and compatibility.
- Set up displays and plan-o-grams to optimize part presentation and increase sales.

Qualifications and Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in business, Supply Chain Management, or related technical field, or equivalent demonstrated skills and experience.
- Must have experience in purchasing within manufacturing, RV or trailer manufacturing preferred.
- APICS certification desired, but not required.
- Proficient in utilization and understanding of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, Visual experience preferred.
- Experience in a perpetual inventory system utilizing BlackPurl, preferred.
- Strong computer skills with a working knowledge of Microsoft Office, and related software.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Highly motivated self-starter with analytical thinking skills.
