Project Manager – Underground Utilities / OSP Construction
Nova Underground LLC
“Where strong operators build the future of fiber.”
Nova Underground is a rapidly scaling underground utility contractor specializing in fiber and telecom infrastructure across multiple states. Founded in 2024, we’re building a high-performance operation from the ground up — real systems, real standards, and real opportunity. If you’ve been the person in your company who fixes chaos, leads from the front, and builds crews that deliver — this is where your work will actually change the trajectory of the business.
What You’ll Lead
As the Project Manager, you’ll oversee multi-state OSP projects, run field crews, manage production, and create the processes that allow our teams to scale. This role is for someone who thrives in the field, owns outcomes, and can bring order to fast-moving construction environments.
Required Experience (Must-Haves)
You must have the following to be considered:
7 years in underground utilities or telecom OSP construction.
Managed 3–5 field crews (approx. 15–40 laborers).
Managed $3M annual budgets or multiple concurrent projects.
Proficiency in Smartsheet, Excel/Google Sheets, and Bluebeam/Adobe.
Ability to read/interpret OSP prints, fiber plans, redlines, as-builts.
Experience coordinating HDD, trenching, missile boring operations.
Experience with daily production reporting, cost tracking, and change orders.
Familiarity with 811/locates, permitting, and basic compliance.
Prior work with major telecom primes/utilities (Google Fiber, Comcast, AT&T, Frontier, etc.).
Valid driver’s license willingness to travel 90% of the time.
Who Thrives Here (Subjective Traits)
We’re looking for someone who is:
An owner, not a passenger — you run budgets, schedules, and crews like the business depends on you (because it will).
A systems builder — you improve workflows instead of tolerating chaos.
Calm and clear — you communicate well with crews, clients, and leadership, especially when things get messy.
