Job Summary
The HR Generalist will support the HR department in overseeing all human resources functions, including recruitment, employee relations, performance management, and compliance with labor laws in the 5 states in which Nova Farms operates. This position will play a key role in fostering a positive company culture and ensuring that all HR policies and practices align with the strategic goals of Nova Farms
Responsibilities
- Assist with internal HR related inquiries or requests.
- Maintain both hard and digital copies of employees' records, including conducting audits.
- Assist with the recruitment process by identifying candidates and performing reference checks.
- Organize and conduct job fairs with the HR Department.
- Maintain candidate pipeline and database.
- Assist with annual performance management procedures.
- Coordinate training sessions and attendance records.
- Assist with benefits enrollment, including open enrollment process.
- Produce and submit reports on general HR activity.
- Keep up-to-date with the latest HR trends, State and Federal regulations, and best practices.
- Schedule meetings, interviews, HR events and maintain agendas.
- Additional ad hoc HR projects, events and company culture tasks.
- Support other assigned functions related to PFML, FMLA, ACA, Worker’s Comp, etc.
Qualifications
- Industry certification preferred.
- 2 – 3 years of experience in HR preferred.
- Experience in the cannabis industry is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of HR principles and practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Strong problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills.
- Proficiency in HR software (Wurk) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
