Long-Term Substitute for Middle Level English

Notre Dame Preparatory School (NDP), a Catholic, independent, college preparatory school for girls in grades 6 - 12 located in Towson, Maryland, seeks a full-time long-term substitute in our English Department for the 2026 - 2027 school year. This position will involve teaching sections of English to 6^th and 7^th grade for our Middle Level.

Grounded in Catholic teaching and inspired by the charism of the School Sisters of Notre Dame, we expect our employees to foster a culture in which students are encouraged to explore their passions, deepen their faith, and build lasting bonds of sisterhood.

Dates for the position are approximately October 1^th to December 18^th (end date subject to change). 

Key Responsibilities:

• Teach English classes to Middle Level students.
• Teach 5 sections that each meet 3 out of 4 days in the schedule rotation.
• Participate in ongoing professional development and other school-wide events.
• Participate in the school community with other duties as assigned.

Desired Qualifications:

• A bachelor’s degree in English or a related field (required).
• A master’s degree (preferred).
• Maryland State teacher certification or eligibility for certification.
• A passion for teaching English to middle school students. 
• Ability to integrate technology effectively into instruction.  
• Ability to collaborate effectively as a member of the English Department and the NDP community. 
• Ability to integrate technology effectively into instruction.
