Humanities Teacher

Notre Dame High School has an opening for a Humanities Teacher for the 2025-2026 academic year.
APPLICANT REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in History, Social Studies, or English
- State Certification as a teacher is preferred.

Class Format: At Notre Dame High School, each student is known, and the results of student progress are carefully monitored. Notre Dame maintains restrictions on class size and overall teacher-student ratio, to ensure individual attention. Because Notre Dame employs a modified block scheduling model, the school year mirrors academic years at college with classes running by semester rather than by whole year.
TEACHER RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Implement curricula and activities to meet academic standards.
- Design and implement assessments that measure progress towards academic standards.
- Use assessment data to refine curriculum and inform instructional practices.
- Participate in collaborative curriculum development, grade-level activities, and school-wide functions.
- Provide consistent rewards and/or consequences for student behavior.
- Be accountable for students’ mastery of academic standards.
- Communicate effectively with students, families, and colleagues.
- Participate in annual compliance training; and
- Participate in religion department and full faculty meetings and in-service days.
