Description
The Scheduler is responsible to coordinate and maintain scheduling for the Long Term and Skilled Nursing Care's Nursing Department. Develops and maintains staffing schedule for Nursing Department and maintains all related records. Assists with monitoring Licensure, Immunizations and Physicals for all employees. To comply with CMS staffing data requirements, employee is responsible for the collection, dissemination, and reporting of required direct care staffing data (Payroll-Based Journal) used in the determination process of Long-Term Care’s Nursing Home Five Star Quality Rating System. Scheduler will provide administrative support to the Director of Nursing, Assistant Director of Nursing, and Nurse Managers/Supervisors as assigned.
Requirements
- Associate’s degree or healthcare-related education required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Prior scheduling experience within a long-term care facility required.
- Experience with scheduling software in a healthcare or long-term care setting required.
- Experience in supervision, employee relations, and disciplinary processes strongly preferred.
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word).
- Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Clear speaking voice and good telephone skills required.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
- Strong interpersonal skills and professionalism when working with staff, residents, families, and visitors.
- Prior C.N.A. experience preferred.
- Willingness to attend and participate in educational and training programs.
Work Hours and Schedule Expectations:
Typical workday hours are Monday through Friday from 7:15 AM to 3:45PM or 7:30AM to 4:00PM.
Employee within this position not expected to work paid holidays.
Willing to work beyond normal working hours, on weekends, and in other positions temporarily, when necessary.
