A key component of this role is the logistical orchestration of school events, ensuring every setup is executed with precision and care.
Essential Job Responsibilities
- Provide all stakeholders with the highest level of of customer service in alignment with the Mission and Values of Notre Dame de Sion Schools
- Supervise, train, and mentor the Maintenance Staff (one stationed at the Grade School and one at the High School).
- Assign daily work orders and long-term projects to staff, ensuring balanced workloads and high standards of workmanship.
- Conduct regular check-ins and annual performance evaluations to maintain a proactive and efficient team culture.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for the contracted cleaning crew. Conduct daily or weekly inspections to ensure all sanitation standards are met.
- Coordinate with landscaping vendors for seasonal upkeep, lawn care, snow removal, and specialized grounds projects.
- Assist the VP of Operations in evaluating vendor performance and providing feedback to ensure cost-effectiveness and quality.
- Develop and execute a comprehensive preventative maintenance schedule for HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and life-safety systems.
- Address urgent repair needs and "on-call" emergencies to minimize disruptions to the learning environment.
- Ensure both campuses adhere to local building codes, fire & life safety standards.
- Work with the school administrators to conduct required life safety drills.
- Ensure that the school has vans or buses needed for all trips and events. Maintain a calendar of these needs and rent additional buses and vans as needed.
- Review the school master calendar weekly to identify setup needs for assemblies, athletic events, fundraisers, and board meetings. Meet with Administrators on both campuses and the Philanthropy and Engagement team to ensure all of their event needs are met.
- Lead the maintenance staff in the physical setup and breakdown of chairs, tables, stages, and specialized equipment (e.g., sound/AV support).
- Ensure all venues are clean and "event-ready" prior to the arrival of guests or students.
- Excellent communication, customer service, and organizational skills.
- 5 years in facilities maintenance or construction, with at least 2 years in a supervisory capacity.
- Strong working knowledge of MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) systems, general carpentry, and life safety systems (Fire Alarm & Sprinklers).
- Proficiency in using Google Suite of programs and general computer knowledge.
- Ability to communicate effectively with school administration, faculty, and outside contractors.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, and move between campuses as needed.
- Prolonged standing, walking, bending and stooping; lifting and carrying objects up to 50lbs. on level surfaces and/or stairways, on ladders and on lifts up to 35’ high
- Sufficient vision (with correction) to use close vision, color vision, peripheral vision and depth perception along with ability to focus vision.
- Able to hear and speak clearly
- Reach with hands and arms and use hands and fingers to handle objects and operate tools, computers and controls.

Salary : $55,000 - $60,000
