Classroom Associate
Position Summary
Notre Dame Middle School/High School is seeking a Classroom Associate to support students enrolled in our online Spanish program. This position serves as the in-person supervisor for students participating in an asynchronous learning environment. The Classroom Associate will help ensure students remain on task and successful while providing classroom management, organizational support, and communication between students and online instructors when needed.
Spanish fluency is not required for this position; however, Spanish-speaking candidates are encouraged to apply and language proficiency will be considered a beneficial asset.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Supervise students during scheduled online Spanish class periods.
- Monitor student engagement, participation, and appropriate use of technology.
- Maintain a structured, productive, and positive classroom environment.
- Assist students with navigating the online learning platform and accessing course materials.
- Communicate with online instructors as needed regarding attendance, assignments, due dates, student progress, and concerns.
- Track student completion of coursework and encourage accountability.
- Maintain accurate attendance records.
- Collaborate with administration regarding behavioral concerns.
- Support school policies and expectations regarding student conduct and technology use.
- Foster positive relationships with students while encouraging independence and responsibility.
Qualifications
Required
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to maintain a structured learning environment and manage student behavior appropriately.
- Ability to work independently and follow established procedures.
Preferred
- Associate's degree or higher.
- Previous experience in education, tutoring, youth development, or classroom support.
- Experience working with high school-aged students.
- Spanish language proficiency.
- Familiarity with online learning platforms and educational technology.
