Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Air Conditioning Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in HVAC systems, refrigeration, and mechanical maintenance, with experience in service, repair, and installation of air conditioning units. This role involves diagnosing issues, performing repairs, and ensuring optimal operation of HVAC equipment across various properties. A valid driver’s license is required for field service assignments. The technician will also be responsible for interpreting schematics, working with HVAC design plans, and maintaining safety standards on-site.
Responsibilities
- Install, troubleshoot, and repair air conditioning systems, refrigeration units, and HVAC equipment.
- Perform routine maintenance and emergency repairs on HVAC/R systems to ensure efficient operation.
- Read and interpret schematics, technical manuals, and HVAC design plans to accurately diagnose issues.
- Conduct plumbing and mechanical repairs related to HVAC systems as needed.
- Utilize tools such as ohmmeters and welding equipment to repair or replace faulty components.
- Maintain detailed records of service calls, repairs performed, and parts used.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and proper handling of refrigerants including ammonia refrigeration systems.
- Assist with property maintenance tasks related to HVAC and mechanical systems.
- Operate company vehicles safely in accordance with
driver requirements when performing field service work.
Skills
- Proven experience as a Service Technician specializing in HVAC, refrigeration, or appliance repair.
- Strong mechanical knowledge including equipment repair, boiler systems, and welding skills.
- Ability to read schematics and understand HVAC design principles.
- Knowledge of plumbing systems related to HVAC installations and repairs.
- Familiarity with ammonia refrigeration systems and HVAC/R equipment maintenance.
- Experience working in construction or property maintenance environments is a plus.
- Proficiency with diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters and other electrical testing devices.
- Mechanical aptitude with a focus on equipment repair and maintenance tasks.
- Field service experience demonstrating the ability to troubleshoot on-site issues efficiently.
