What are the responsibilities and job description for the Frontline Supervisor/Group Leader position at Norwood Medical and Careers?
JOB SUMMARY
Norwood Medical is currently hiring for a day shift and night shift supervisor to manage CNC Machining operations in our production area. The Group Leader position is accountable for ensuring that production scheduled for completion is executed in a timely manner and within all quality parameters and for participation in both the hiring and performance management processes.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
- Read routers and performs work as assigned by Operations Manager
- Delegate daily job assignments to operator’s and production associates
- Utilize Manufacturing Inspection Process (MIP) to perform quality checks on produced parts
- Monitor and audit production associate’s product per the Manufacturing Inspection Plan (MIP)
- Work hand in hand with scheduling to achieve schedule attainment
- Work hand in hand with scheduling to achieve schedule attainment
- Coordinate production flow according to customer needs
- Detect and report defective materials or questionable conditions to the Quality Manager/Operations Manager
- Escalate production issues to the appropriate department
- Review and inform operators, production associates and management of production efficiency achievement levels
- Communicate scheduling and shipping issues to the building Operations Manager
- Monitor raw material staging and work in process
- Troubleshoot technical issues for Operators and/or Production Associates Delegate daily job assignments to operators and production associates
- Coordinate and/or conduct new employee training
- Perform secondary operations to machined parts including but not limited to inspections, de-burring, tumbling, washing, assembly, and/or packaging
- Perform typical machine shop operations
- Participate in employee hiring and retention, performance reviews and discipline
- Maintain a clean and orderly work area
- Comply with safety regulations and procedures
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to follow established methods and procedures
- Prior experience managing a small team (10-20 employees)
- Use of eyes for visual inspection purposes
- Hand dexterity
- Ability to lift up to 35 pounds
- Ability to stand, sit, or move about the facility during scheduled work hours
- Work as a team player and communicate work related issues as needed
