What are the responsibilities and job description for the Adjunct Faculty - English - Norwich University position at Norwich University?
The Department of Global Humanities at Norwich University invites applications for a position of adjunct in writing starting in the fall semester of 2025 (August 25, 2025-December 15, 2025). This is an in-person position on the Norwich University campus, in Northfield, Vermont.
The selected candidate will be responsible for teaching WRIT 110 Writing and Inquiry in Public Contexts (3 credits) and/or WRIT 111 Writing and Inquiry in Academic Contexts (3 credits), two staples in our first-year writing common curriculum. Adjunct faculty are expected to follow the provided curriculum, provide timely feedback on student work at various stages in the composing process, and monitor student progress. Adjunct faculty members work on a part-time, course-by-course basis, with assignments dependent on pending student enrollment.
The position's renewal will be contingent on successful review and performance.
Salary is based on number of credits assigned.
Job Requirements:
- Minimum of a Master's degree in English, Rhetoric and Composition, or a related field.
- Experience teaching in-person writing courses at the college level, preferably composition courses
- Demonstrated excellence in teaching.
- Proficiency in current composition theories and pedagogies, including integrating technology in the classroom
