The Norwescap Food Bank located in Phillipsburg, NJ serves Hunterdon, Warren, and Sussex Counties. By joining our Operations team as a Warehouse Associate, you will play a vital role in ensuring nutritious food reaches individuals and families facing hunger.Job Summary: As a Warehouse Associate, you will be accountable to perform a variety of tasks to help the smooth functioning of our warehouse operations. This includes the receiving, storing, organization and distribution of food products. This role is responsible for maintaining accurate inventory records and helping ensure a clean, safe, and efficient warehouse environment. The ideal candidate has warehouse experience, works well in a fast-paced setting, and is motivated by a commitment to community service.Key Responsibilities:Receive, move, load, unload, and store inbound and outbound food products in designated staging or storage areas in accordance with established safety procedures.Assist with off-loading inbound deliveries and loading outbound shipments, including government commodities, donated goods, and purchased food items.Accurately select, stage, and prepare orders for truck deliveries and agency partner pick-ups, including loading and unloading trucks to ensure timely and accurate distribution.Engage agency network partners in a positive, professional, and efficient manner during pick-up and delivery operations, supporting accurate order fulfillment and smooth warehouse flow.Complete and manage associated paperwork with a strong focus on accuracy, detail, and inventory control.Perform daily product consolidation as needed to maximize storage space and maintain overall warehouse organization.Accompany truck drivers for large deliveries and pick-ups when required.Pick up food donations from retail stores and food distributors and deliver food using smaller Food Bank vehicles.Work collaboratively with staff to maintain cleanliness, safety, and organization across all warehouse locations.QualificationsHigh School Diploma or General Educational Development (GED) equivalent preferred.Minimum of one year experience working in a warehouse and distribution setting preferred.Valid driver's license required.Forklift experience and certification preferred (certification must be obtained within three months of employment).Food handler certification preferred (certification must be obtained within three months of employment).Eligibility for CDL medical card preferred.Strong communication and service orientation skills with ability to provide excellent customer service to our agency partners.Strong work ethic with an orientation toward action, innovation, and process improvement.Ability to work independently and collaboratively across the team.Passion for community service and commitment to our mission.Physical RequirementsAbility to lift and carry up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.Ability to walk and stand for long periods of time.Ability to bend, squat, stoop, kneel and reach above your shoulders.Ability to work in a warehouse environment in extreme temperatures.BenefitsHealth and Dental InsuranceEmployee Assistance ProgramFlexible Spending AccountLife InsurancePaid Time OffRetirement PlanVision InsuranceWork ScheduleThis is a full-time, non-exempt position working Monday – Thursday, 7:00 am to 3:30 pm and Friday 8:00 am to 2:00 pm.
