Responsibilities
Discover a healthcare career designed with you in mind at Norton Healthcare. The Student Healthcare Assistant must be enrolled in a healthcare collegiate program. The Student Healthcare Assistant is responsible for attending Norton Healthcare classes as assigned per orientation and employment. If appropriately assessed and deemed competent, the Student Healthcare Assistant may provide validated skills under the direction of licensed nursing staff as assigned. Performs direct and indirect tasks as appropriate to facilitate safe, quality patient care while ensuring efficient, smooth functioning unit operations. Provides administrative support as defined. The Student Healthcare Assistant is responsible for the following tasks, as assigned by unit nursing leadership including: phlebotomy, sitter, vital signs, intake and output, blood sugar, turning, bathing, bed making, feeding, ambulation, safety rounds.

Applicants must be currently enrolled in a collegiate healthcare program.

Required:
- Current enrollment in a collegiate healthcare program
Desired, but not required:
- Certified Nursing Assistant (IN)
