Surgical Technician Responsibilities:
- Preparation and handling of instrumentation and surgical equipment and assisting the surgeon during the surgical procedure.
- Administers care and use of equipment applications based on the age and needs of the patient population served.
- Applying knowledge of specific procedures or specialties, effectively prioritize, and effectively plan and problem solve due to the changing nature of the work situation during surgical procedures.
- Recognizing and supporting the need for immediate response during urgent or emergency situations.
- Possessing basic knowledge of medical terminology, the metric system and aseptic technique, and apply this knowledge in all patient and family interactions.
Surgical Technician
- Not certified? We have opportunities to work under the full scope of practice as a surgical technician in our five area hospitals.
- Surgical Technician roles require one year surgical tech experience or completion of a surgical tech program or completion of a surgical tech apprentice program.
Certified Sr. Surgical Technician
- Certified? We have opportunities to work under the full scope of practice as a surgical technician in our five area hospitals.
- Senior Surgical Technician roles require three years as a Surgical Technician and certification as a Surgical Tech (CST).

Qualifications
Required:
