Responsibilities
The Coordinator, Tobacco-Youth is responsible for education, identifying and providing resources regarding tobacco use, and cessation in Southern Indiana, focusing on the under age 21 population. This position is grant funded from the Indiana Department of Health for Tobacco Prevention and Cessation and supported in part by Norton Healthcare. Responsible for the submission of all documentation and data to the Coord, Tobacco-Adult for purposes of grant reporting. The Coord, Tobacco-Youth will serve as a liaison between schools, Norton Healthcare and the Indiana Health Department. Responsible for meeting the requirements and goals established in the grant, and for implementing, evaluating and assessing the needs for the target population as it relates to tobacco use. Will assist in budget planning, data tracking and reporting per the grant/Norton Healthcare requirements, as well as assist with strategic planning and grant applications, in collaboration with the Coord, Tobacco-Adult. Will attend required state meetings with the Health Department, as well as Norton Healthcare, and be able to identify problems and solutions as indicated. Must be willing to work a variable schedule, including some weekends and evenings, and be able to travel throughout the community. Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills and have an interest in public health. Should be able to work independently and be self-motivated.
