Claims Analyst – Insolvency & Claims Management

Are you detail-oriented with a strong background in financial analysis or legal support? Join our team as a Claims Analyst, where you'll play a vital role in managing creditor claims related to insolvency proceedings—particularly Assignments for the Benefit of Creditors (ABCs).
This role requires a sharp analytical mindset to review and reconcile claims against financial records, tax filings, and legal documents. You’ll support case teams in resolving complex claims—especially tax-related—and assist in preparing claim summaries used in distribution planning and case administration.
Key Responsibilities
- Review proof of claim submissions for accuracy, completeness, and supporting documentation.
- Validate claims by comparing them to debtor records or schedules; recommend approval, reduction, or rejection.
- Communicate directly with federal, state, and local tax agencies to resolve outstanding liabilities and facilitate account closures.
- Maintain detailed notes and an audit trail in the claims management system.
- Prepare internal summaries, exception reports, and support waterfall distribution calculations.
- Log and index incoming claim forms and related correspondence.
- Organize and maintain claim files (digital or physical) for audit and compliance.
- Assist with scheduling, internal coordination, and stakeholder communications.
- Draft and send notices, deficiency letters, and other standard correspondence.
- Respond to inquiries from creditors and internal professionals.
Qualifications & Skills
- Understanding of claim classifications (secured, priority, unsecured) and claim status.
- Background in accounts payable, financial analysis, legal support, or general accounting.
- Familiarity with tax-related notices (IRS, FTB, CDTFA, EDD) and claim treatment.
- Experience with ABCs, bankruptcy (Ch. 7 or 11), or insolvency proceedings is a plus.
- Knowledge of statutory deadlines and creditor noticing requirements (preferred).
