The Camp Erin Director will maximize the meaningfulness for Camp Erin campers as set forth by Northwestern Settlement’s vision.

Key Responsibilities:

• Recruit, screen and train Camp Volunteers

• Maintain the intake schedule and all correspondence.

• Screen and interview prospective campers

• Coordinate grief activities schedule, cabin groupings and volunteer assignments for the camp weekend

• Attend staff meetings and clinical meetings.

• Maintain communication and relationship with Eluna Foundation

• Recruit, screen, and train potential volunteers at 3-day Volunteer training 3-4 times/year

• Conduct pre-group appointments and maintain intake schedule 2 hours/week and as needed.

• Participate in the Parent component of the Family Support Program including all set-up and clean-up as needed.

• Co-lead a minimum of 1 in-house and 1 school-based group per semester.

• Interview, assess, and train teen alumni to be teen group leaders.

• Conduct school intakes with new volunteer group leaders as needed.

• Provide 1- to 4-hour educational, in-service and community presentations on Children’s Grief

• Collect and compile program statistics for board and grant reports.

• Attend staff meetings, clinical meetings and 1:1 supervision.

• Lead On-site Grief Response as needed

• Other duties as schedule permits.

• Oversee assistant who will be responsible for pre-camp planning and weekend logistics including bus pick-up and drop-off, training locations, duffel bags, t-shirts, bears, volunteer lounge, menu, snacks, packing and unpacking for camp weekend, non-clinical camp activities, and volunteer schedules

• Maintain relationships with camp partners and vendors

Education/Experiences:

• Master’s Degree in Social Work, Counseling, or a closely related field strongly encouraged.
• Previous experience with specialized camp populations encouraged.
• Skilled at communicating both verbally and in writing.
• Must be an intuitive, nonjudgmental listener who easily builds relationships built on respect, trust and positive regard.
• Ability to be warm, flexible, and hold a strong belief that generational trauma can be healed through counseling.
• Detail-driven, highly organized, and enjoy working autonomously but are also excited by big-picture outcomes and the opportunity to innovate and collaborate with a team to reach shared goals.

Compensation & Benefits:

Compensation will be commensurate with experience and qualification. In addition, all staff areas are equipped with the tools needed to succeed, including a dedicated work space, laptop, email, high-speed internet access, and all necessary supplies.
