Job Overview
Northwestern Rebar is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Shop Worker / Delivery Driver to join our fabrication team. In this hands-on role, you’ll support daily shop operations, assist in rebar fabrication and material handling, and make deliveries to job sites as needed. Your mechanical aptitude, reliability, and teamwork will help maintain smooth workflow, safety, and efficiency across our facility. Responsibilities
- Assist in the cutting, bending, tagging, and bundling of rebar and related materials according to job specifications.
- Load and unload trucks safely using forklifts and other material-handling equipment.
- Deliver fabricated materials to job sites using company vehicles while maintaining professional communication with customers and site staff.
- Verify material counts and ensure accurate delivery documentation.
- Support daily shop operations by organizing materials, maintaining inventory accuracy, and keeping the work area clean and safe.
- Inspect tools, equipment, and vehicles regularly, reporting any maintenance or safety issues promptly.
- Follow all company and OSHA safety protocols during fabrication, handling, and transport.
- Collaborate with shop and yard teams to meet daily production and delivery schedules efficiently.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a fabrication, rebar, warehouse, or manufacturing environment preferred.
- Mechanical aptitude and ability to read basic shop drawings or cut lists are a plus.
- Forklift experience required; certification preferred or willingness to obtain.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; ability to operate flatbed or delivery trucks.
- Ability to lift heavy materials safely and stand for extended periods.
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and commitment to safety.
- Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
