Teaching Assistant (all genders) for school aged children/teens w/disabilities

About Us

We are a nonprofit, year-round agency located in Edmonds, dedicated to making a positive impact in the community by working with school aged children & teens with moderate to severe disabilities. Our program serves 8 students aged 5 to 21, providing opportunities for personal growth, pre-vocational opportunities, and integrated activities. We are passionate about creating a supportive environment that fosters joy and purpose in the lives of our students and staff.

Teaching Assistant Responsibilities

· Work with a small group of children & teens with disabilities.

· Participate in field trips, individual goals, and integrated activities.

· Build relationships with the public and create opportunities for personal growth and success for students.

· Communicate effectively with other staff and peers.

· Take direction from lead staff and work independently as well as with a team.

Teaching Assistant Requirements

· Must be 18 years or older.

· Experience and/or education in the field of special education is a plus, but not required.

· Self-motivation and team spirit.

· Reliable transportation to and from work.

· Good work ethic, sense of humor, and common sense.

· Ability to work well with other staff and the public.

· Willingness to work with people with disabilities.

· Ability to follow instructions and take initiative.

· Required certifications: CPR, First Aid, HIV/AIDS, TB test (training provided).
