Java Developer

Northwest Partners is partnering with a premier client in the insurance industry to hire an experienced full time Senior Full Stack Developer. This role is ideal for a seasoned software engineer with deep expertise in both front-end and back-end technologies and a passion for building high-performance, customer-facing web applications. You will be part of a collaborative, agile development team dedicated to innovation and delivering top-tier digital experiences for insurance customers.

What YOU will do:

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable, high-performance web applications.
• Build intuitive, responsive front-end interfaces in collaboration with UX/UI teams.
• Create robust APIs that support front-end applications and integrate with backend services and databases.
• Perform unit testing, code reviews, and participate in test planning.
• Ensure application optimization for speed, scalability, and security.
• Establish and enhance CI/CD pipelines and development best practices.
• Use approved Gen AI tools to improve development workflows.
• Participate in agile ceremonies including daily stand-ups, retrospectives, and cross-functional team collaboration.
• Provide technical leadership and mentoring within your areas of expertise.
• Document functional and technical requirements, and contribute to architectural decisions.
• Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve complex technical problems.

What YOU will bring us:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 8 years of full stack development experience with a focus on customer-facing applications.
• Expertise in Java, Spring Boot, JavaScript, and Angular (latest versions).
• Strong front-end development skills including HTML5, CSS3, RxJS, and responsive design.
• Experience with web services (REST, SOAP) and data formats (JSON, XML).
• Proficient in database technologies such as PostgreSQL and SQL.
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools and container-based environments (e.g., AWS, CloudFront).
• Hands-on experience with unit testing frameworks such as JUnit, Karma, Jasmine, and Mockito.
• Experience with OAuth, JWT, OpenID, and SAML.
• Familiarity with monitoring and APM tools like Splunk, AppDynamics, and Grafana.
• Working knowledge of secure coding practices, code scanning tools (SonarQube, Veracode), and SOX compliance.
• Ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.
