NWOS is looking for an MRI Scheduler to join our MRI Department. This position works primarily at our downtown location with supplemental coverage at our Valley Office MRI location. NWOS is closed all weekends and major holidays. No night shifts or on-call.

The MRI Scheduler serves as the initial contact for patients' MRI visits and assists in health care delivery through clerical support of the practice coordinators, physicians, and/or physician assistants of NWOS.

Essential Functions

• Schedules MRI appointments by phone and in person - providing excellent customer service
• Process all incoming MRI orders and referrals, verifying insurance and benefits, and obtaining insurance authorizations
• Complete patient registration and check-in
• Prepare billing slips to ensure accurate codes were selected and provide to billing office
• Coordinate arthrograms with PA-C schedule and ASC staff
• Review and email addendum requests on radiology reports
• Create creatinine lab order as needed for any IV contrast exams
  
  

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• One year medical office experience preferred
• Knowledge of medical terminology and human anatomy
• Basic knowledge of health insurance plans and benefits
• Proficient use of EHR preferred
• Basic knowledge of ICD-9 and CPT coding
  
  

Shift

• Monday through Friday, Day shift. No nights, weekends, or major holidays.
