What are the responsibilities and job description for the NWOESC- Intervention Specialist Subtitute position at Northwest Ohio Educational Service Center (Nwoesc)?
A substitute intervention specialist is needed for the following assignment.
The HI Intervention Specialist will:
- Support school personnel in providing interventions and instructional strategies to improve student achievement for students with hearing impairments.
- Provide guidance and recommendations for accommodations.
- Participate in assessments and serve on IEP teams as requested.
- Provide direct services to students as needed.
Qualifications (partial list):
Must hold proper Ohio State Board of Education Intervention Specialist licensure, or be eligible to obtain a supplemental license. https://sboe.ohio.gov/educator-licensure
This position requires the Hearing Impaired (P-12) (196116) license.

Essential Functions (partial list):
- Maintains a thorough understanding of subject matter and pedagogy. Organizes subject content and learning goals that support high levels of student achievement.
- Works closely with other service providers to support unified classroom lessons.
- Prepares intervention materials. Teaches assigned students as scheduled.
- Develop and implement lesson plans aligned with intervention goals.
- Evaluates student academic needs and learning styles.
- Differentiates instructional techniques to effectively advance student learning.
- Uses formal and informal assessment strategies to monitor student progress.
- Uses a data-driven approach to analyze assessments. Provides effective feedback to students.
- Facilitates Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings. Prepares draft and final IEPs.
- Prepares and transmits legally compliant special education documents by required deadlines.
- Advocates for students. Facilitates inclusive educational opportunities for all students.
- Evaluate student achievement/performance. Prepares progress reports and/or report cards.
- Uses positive behavioral support techniques.
- Exemplifies professionalism to enhance NwOESC and member district public images.
- Maintains open/effective communications. Serves as a reliable information resource.
- Pursues opportunities to enhance personal performance.
CONTRACT: January and February 2026
LOCATION: Public school districts in Henry, Fulton, Williams or Defiance counties. (Districts TBD)
DEADLINE: Until Filled
SALARY: Per the adopted salary schedule based on training and experience
