The Millcreek-West Unity Board of Education is seeking a qualified and dedicated professional to serve as the district’s next CFO/Treasurer. Current CFO/Treasurer, Traci Thompson, plans to retire on December 31, 2026, following many dedicated years of service to the district. The Board is seeking a trusted fiscal leader who will provide sound financial leadership, communicate clearly and effectively, support informed decision-making, and work collaboratively with the Board, superintendent, staff, and community. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of school finance and a commitment to maintaining the district’s fiscal health while supporting its continued focus on student success. The Northwest Ohio Educational Service Center is assisting the Board of Education with the search.

Millcreek-West Unity Local Schools is a community-centered district serving students in Preschool through Grade 12 from West Unity, Alvordton, and surrounding communities. RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS
The successful candidate will demonstrate:
- Experience in governmental and school accounting and reporting, including EMIS.
- Thorough knowledge of and successful experience with comprehensive fiscal management practices.
- The ability to develop financial forecasts using sound fiscal assumptions.
- The ability to maintain fiscal credibility and effectively communicate financial information to the Board, district leadership, staff, and community.
- The ability to work collaboratively with the Board, superintendent, administrators, and staff.
- Knowledge and experience in establishing and maintaining appropriate internal accounting controls.
- Familiarity with Ohio school law and school finance.
- Working knowledge and successful experience with cash management.
- A valid State of Ohio School Treasurer’s License or eligibility to obtain the license.
- Experience as a school treasurer is preferred.
*Licensure pathways are available to individuals who hold a bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting.
