Industrial Technology Teacher

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

  1. Valid Iowa Teaching Certificate with Industrial Technology endorsement.
  2. Minimum BA degree required with Industrial Technology major preferred.
  3. Experience teaching preferred.
  4. Experience teaching in a modular system preferred
  5. Aware of current research and changing trends in Industrial Technology.
  6. Project Lead The Way or willing to attend training.

REPORTS TO:  Principal    

 

 

SUPERVISES:  n/a    

 

JOB GOALS:  To provide sequenced learning and hands-on activities in Industrial Technology courses in order to enhance student learning, promote the overall efficiency of the school system, and maximize the educational opportunities available to each child.       

 

 

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  1. Teach course in Industrial Technology utilizing course of study adopted by the Board of Education and appropriate instructional objectives as guidelines in teaching individual course content.
  2. Develop lesson plans and appropriate aids utilizing effective teaching techniques to stimulate and maximize learning.
  3. Establish clear objectives for each lesson and communicate objectives to students.
  4. Plan effectively and purposely, utilizing long range plans which are compatible with building and district goals.
  5. Diagnose the needs and levels of performance for each student and appraise student work and progress.
  6. Implement an effective grading system.
  7. Define classroom expectations along with building procedures to students.
  8. Demonstrate positive interpersonal relationships with staff, parents, students, and administrators.
  9. Work cooperatively with students, parents, staff, and administration to alleviate concerns and problems.
  10. Supply frequent and timely feedback to students, parents and counselors regarding student progress.
  11. Maintain professional competence through in-service education activities provided by the school district and in self-selected professional growth activities.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:      

 

186/184 Contract Days.   Salary and calendar year to be established by the Board of Education.

 

 

EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the District’s policy on Evaluation, State Statute, and any applicable Collective Bargaining Agreement.
