QUALIFICATIONS :
- Valid Iowa Teaching Certificate with Industrial Technology endorsement.
- Minimum BA degree required with Industrial Technology major preferred.
- Experience teaching preferred.
- Experience teaching in a modular system preferred
- Aware of current research and changing trends in Industrial Technology.
- Project Lead The Way or willing to attend training.

SUPERVISES: n/a
JOB GOALS : To provide sequenced learning and hands-on activities in Industrial Technology courses in order to enhance student learning, promote the overall efficiency of the school system, and maximize the educational opportunities available to each child.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Teach course in Industrial Technology utilizing course of study adopted by the Board of Education and appropriate instructional objectives as guidelines in teaching individual course content.
- Develop lesson plans and appropriate aids utilizing effective teaching techniques to stimulate and maximize learning.
- Establish clear objectives for each lesson and communicate objectives to students.
- Plan effectively and purposely, utilizing long range plans which are compatible with building and district goals.
- Diagnose the needs and levels of performance for each student and appraise student work and progress.
- Implement an effective grading system.
- Define classroom expectations along with building procedures to students.
- Demonstrate positive interpersonal relationships with staff, parents, students, and administrators.
- Work cooperatively with students, parents, staff, and administration to alleviate concerns and problems.
- Supply frequent and timely feedback to students, parents and counselors regarding student progress.
- Maintain professional competence through in-service education activities provided by the school district and in self-selected professional growth activities.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT :
186/184 Contract Days. Salary and calendar year to be established by the Board of Education.
EVALUATION : Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the District’s policy on Evaluation, State Statute, and any applicable Collective Bargaining Agreement.
