For more than 50 years, NMHSI—a nonprofit community health center—has been committed to improving the health and wellness of communities across Northwest Michigan. We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Staff Accountant to join our Finance Department.
About the Role
The Staff Accountant reports directly to the Chief Financial Officer and works closely with the Finance team. This position leads all day-to-day accounting operations and carries functional responsibility for accounting, payroll, and grants administration.
Key Responsibilities
Manage daily accounting functions
Process payroll accurately and timely
Oversee grants administration and ensure compliance with grant requirements
Produce monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
Maintain accurate accounting records and documentation
Ensure all financial transactions align with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
Support audits and financial reviews as needed
Learn and apply financial processes unique to Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs)
