Position Overview

The M365 Apps Engineer develops and optimizes solutions using Microsoft Power Platform, SharePoint Online, and related Microsoft 365 technologies. As the organization’s lead expert in low-code/ no-code solution design, this position plays a pivotal role in driving digital transformation, process automation, and system integration to support college-wide strategic initiatives.

Operating as a cross-functional technical leader, the Solutions Engineer will collaborate with internal stakeholders, business units, and external vendors to deliver scalable, secure, and compliant applications. This role also vets, implements, and provides customer support to 3 rd party applications as well. This role will also be instrumental in establishing governance practices, mentoring teams, and leading the adoption of innovative technologies that align with organizational goals.

In This Position You Will Have The Opportunity To

  • Lead the architecture, development, and implementation of business-critical solutions using Power Apps, SharePoint Online, and related M365 tools.
  • Guide full Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) for new applications developed in house or purchased from 3 rd party, including requirement gathering, design, testing, deployment, documentation, and ongoing support.
  • Collaborate with business units to translate complex requirements into scalable technical solutions that drive automation and efficiency.
  • Serve as the technical authority on Power Platform and Microsoft 365 capabilities, influencing platform strategy and adoption across departments.
  • Partner with Corporate IT teams and vendors to evaluate, recommend, and implement new applications and solutions that meet both business and compliance needs.
  • Govern and enforce standards for application architecture, data integrity, security, and performance optimization across platforms.
  • Design and manage integration between Power Platform applications and other enterprise systems (e.g., ERP, CRM, HRIS).
  • Provide expert-level support to business users across M365 applications, approved third-party solutions, and custom Power Platform apps developed in this role.
  • Lead the development and maintenance of governance models, including the Center of Excellence (CoE), environment management, solution auditing, licensing, and security policies for the Power Platform.
  • Champion change management and continuous improvement initiatives, aligning technical advancements with organizational goals and user feedback.

Required Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree with 4 years of experience, or,
  • An additional 8 years of relevant experience in lieu of degree.
  • Microsoft certifications: PL-600, PL-400, MS-600, or equivalent.
  • Expertise in IT General Controls (ITGC) and regulatory compliance frameworks (e.g., SOX, ISO 27001)

Technical Requirements/ Core Competencies

  • Deep expertise in Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, and Dataverse).
  • Advanced knowledge of SharePoint Online, including SPFx, modern site architecture, permissions, and content management.
  • Demonstrated experience designing and implementing low-code/ no-code solutions that streamline business processes.
  • Strong background in Microsoft 365 ecosystem integration, including Teams, OneDrive, Outlook, and Exchange Online.
  • Experience in Azure services, particularly Logic Apps, Functions, and Active Directory integration.
  • Familiarity with REST APIs, OData, Graph API, and data connectors for system integration.
  • Ability to build data models and visual dashboards using Power BI to support data driven decisions.
  • Working knowledge of compliance frameworks such as SOX, ISO 27001, and IT General Controls (ITGC).
  • Proficiency in Agile and DevOps environments, including version control (e.g., Git) and CI/ CD pipelines.
  • Experience monitoring app performance and platform analytics to proactively identify issues and improve functionality.

$98,621 - $109,580 annual salary an outstanding benefits package
