What are the responsibilities and job description for the Stone Countertop Fabricator / Installer position at Northwest Interiors & Design?
About Us
For nearly two decades, Northwest Stone Fabricators has crafted and installed the finest stone and porcelain surfaces for homeowners, contractors, architects, and designers across the Pacific Northwest. Everything we do happens under one roof and in our own hands — from our designers and fabricators to our installers, every person on a project is an NWSF employee. That's how we deliver the precision, consistency, and craftsmanship our clients count on.
We work with premium granite, marble, quartzite, engineered quartz, and porcelain slab, using advanced tools like digital templating and precision book-matching to produce flawless seams and stunning results every time. If you take real pride in your craft, you'll fit right in.
The Role
We're looking for an experienced Stone Countertop Fabricator/Installer to join our team. You'll cut, shape, finish, and install high-end natural stone, quartz, and porcelain surfaces — bringing each design to life with the accuracy and care our reputation is built on. This is a hands-on career with a team that respects craftsmanship, not a punch-in/punch-out job.
What You'll Do
- Fabricate countertops and stone surfaces from slab — cutting, edging, polishing, and finishing granite, marble, quartzite, quartz, and porcelain to spec
- Read and work from shop drawings, work orders, and digital templates
- Operate and maintain fabrication equipment (CNC, bridge saw, edge polishers, hand tools) safely and to standard
- Perform on-site templating and installation, ensuring precise fit, level seams, and clean finished results
- Handle and transport slabs and finished pieces safely using proper lifting equipment and technique
- Inspect finished work for quality, checking dimensions and surface quality before it leaves the shop and after install
- Keep a clean, organized, and safe work area and job site
- Communicate professionally with the team and, on install, with clients in their homes
What We're Looking For
Required
- 2 years of hands-on stone fabrication and/or countertop installation experience
- Familiarity with fabrication tools, machinery, and shop safety protocols
- Ability to read and follow fabrication drawings and templates
- Strong attention to detail and genuine pride in craftsmanship
- Reliable, safety-minded, and a good teammate
- Valid driver's license (for install/field work)
Preferred
- Experience across multiple materials — natural stone, engineered quartz, and porcelain slab
- CNC and/or digital templating experience
- Experience with high-end residential and commercial projects
Physical Requirements
- Able to lift and maneuver 50 lbs repeatedly and assist in moving heavy slabs and finished pieces
- Comfortable standing, bending, and working on your feet throughout the shift
- Able to work safely around water, dust, and heavy machinery
Compensation & Benefits
- Pay: $30–$40/hour, depending on experience and skill level (adjust to your range)
- Full-time, year-round work
- [List your benefits here — e.g., health insurance, paid time off, holidays, retirement/401(k), tool allowance, paid training]
- A stable, respected shop with a nearly 20-year track record and a team that values quality over shortcuts
Pay: $30.00 - $40.00 per hour
Benefits:
- Professional development assistance
Work Location: In person
Salary : $30 - $40
