POSITION TITLE: Performing Arts Paraprofessional DEPARTMENT: K-12 Performing Arts REPORTS TO: Performing Arts Coordinator SALARY: Follows Salary Schedule for the GLFSS Master Agreement Starting Date: August 31, 2026 JOB SUMMARY: In accordance with district policies and procedures, the Paraprofessional for the Performing Arts Department will assist in the Performing Arts areas of Choir, Band, and Elementary Performing Arts, in addition to after-school duties at concerts, rehearsals, and performances. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Essential functions under the Americans with Disabilities Act may include any of the following duties, knowledge and skills. This list is illustrative only and is not a comprehensive listing of all functions and duties performed by employees in this position. Employees are required to be in attendance and prepared to work at their assigned location and work times. Regular attendance is an essential function of this job. Other essential functions of this position may include, but are not limited to the following: ? Will attend practices & rehearsals to assist with student management ? Must play piano to be able to accompany choirs, theatre rehearsals, individual students in band and choir, and elementary students ? Will assist instructing band students in learning their individual instruments and in small groups. ? Will assist with administrative tasks related to programs, finance, and ? Must demonstrate high levels of organization and task management skills ? Can substitute (in accordance with GLFSS Master Agreement) for any of the Performing Arts Faculty if needed Updated: July 2026 RS EDUCATION/KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS: ? Demonstrated expertise in playing piano and other instrumental or vocal areas. ? Any combination of experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of the position. ? Preferred completed music degree, such BM or BA or higher. OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES: ? Wants to help students of all ability levels see themselves as a holistic person that includes performing arts. ? Maintains appropriate confidentiality ? Promotes a harassment-free environment ? Establishes and maintains effective working relationships; demonstrates a commitment to teamwork. ? Ability to use independent judgment and demonstrates initiative to act without being asked.
